I have found an excellent video about PTSD (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder). It was developed by the National Center for PTSD and the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. Although it was produced for military veterans and their families, it does mention sexual assault and child abuse.

I recently watched the Senate Homeland Security Committee conduct hearings about the Fort Hood massacre. The gist of their questions to the panel of experts was: why wasn’t information shared among federal agencies and the military about the shooter’s questionable activities? If information had been shared, perhaps this tragedy wouldn’t have happened.

Just as with the general public, military personnel who abuse their children should be held accountable. Just because someone wears a uniform in the armed services, they should not be treated any differently but need to be subject to garnishment of their pay like everyone else.
